Located on Government Hill, the Inn overlooks the
entire harbor of Charlotte Amalie. Built in 1803 - originally
the barracks for the personal guard of Danish Governor von
Scholten, whose residence, Crown House, is directly above us.
Guests have their own key to the locked gate for this
courtyard property. The gate opens onto Government House Steps -
connecting Blackbeard's Hill above us with Government House &
garden, historic Frederick Lutheran Church & Fort Christian, at
the port.
The
stairs are an easy way to access the central historic district
with its shopping, dining & ferry boats to St. John, St. Croix
and Tortola.
