Small Hotels
of the San Blas
Islands,
Panama
Hotels in San Blas are more ecolodges
than hotels or inns no matter what they are named. These are
locally-owned ecolodges that provide an unforgettable glimpse into
the life of the Kuna Indians
Most are built out over the water and
the walls of your room or cabana are likely to be reeds or bamboo
partitions. Facilities are minimal and meals usually communal
without much selection.
However, a short visit to the San Blas
Islands is an exceptional experience you will never forget.
If you arrange a tour from Panama City,
your hotel will likely be included in the package. Ask the travel
agent or your hotel tour desk if you have concerns about privacy,
bathroom facilities or access to special dietary needs. The
lodges range from comfortable camping to 'roughing it' crash pads,
so ask before you book - once you arrive there is little opportunity
to change until your scheduled departure.

Sapibenega, The Kuna Lodge
- San Blas Islands |
|
Sapibenega The Kuna Lodge is a
small resort located in one of the 365 wonderful islands that
form up the archipelago of Kuna Yala, which was known before as
the San Blas region.
Sapibenega is a secluded and
tranquil spot. Cabins are equipped with private bathroom, wooden
floor, WC composting toilettes, sweet water, solar pannels,
ceiling fan and balconies with hammocks to enjoy the spectacular
landscapes. We also count with two bar & restaurant (Dibanan
Kalu and Akuabiski), and a large outdoors terrace.
