Small Hotels in Cuba

US citizens are forbidden to spend money in Cuba - so this makes travel a bit difficult for a good chunk of the North American travel market. Some do it by traveling with special educational visas, pre-paid vacations booked in Canada, or just enter via tours from Cancun, Jamaica, The Bahamas or Turks & Caicos Islands. Any way you do it, it may invite extra attention from US Customs/Immigration - even if you manage to avoid a stamp in your passport.

 Hostal Valencia - Old Havanna

  

A restored mansion right in the heart of Old Havanna - located half way between San Francisco de Asis square and the Plaza de Armas.

Originally built in the style of Valencia in the XVIII century - the hostel features 12 large comfortable rooms with wrought iron beds and private bath. at very reasonable price.

There is a restaurant onsite around an interior courtyard, but there are also plenty of restaurants and bars in the area.
